As we prepare for the upcoming winter storm—with meteorologists forecasting 8"–12" of snow this weekend—we’re asking for your help to ensure plows can operate safely and efficiently. Please remove parked vehicles from town and subdivision streets, along with trash bins and any other roadway obstructions.
Here are a few important reminders to help everyone stay safe on the roads:
• Road salt becomes much less effective below 20°F, meaning some roads may stay icy even after treatment.
• Pre‑treating helps, but heavy snow or freezing rain can quickly cover those materials and limit how well they work.
• Due to a multi‑state salt shortage, crews are focusing on major roads, hills, intersections, and emergency routes.
• Roads may remain snow‑ or ice‑covered
• Crews will be working throughout the storm, but conditions can change quickly
• Even treated roads are not guaranteed to be ice‑free
• Slow down and leave extra stopping distance
• Avoid travel during the worst conditions if possible
• Give plows and salt trucks plenty of room to work
We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews work around the clock to keep roads as safe as possible. Stay safe, stay informed, and watch for updates from the town.
