Subject: Vehicle Pursuit and Arrest – McCordsville and Fortville Police Departments

On August 12, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers with the McCordsville Police Department initiated a traffic stop for a moving violation. During the stop, the driver fled the scene, prompting a brief pursuit. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons as the vehicle entered the Town of Fortville.

Shortly thereafter, officers with the Fortville Police Department located the unoccupied vehicle in the Old Bridge neighborhood. As officers approached, the suspect was spotted nearby and immediately fled on foot. After a short chase, the suspect was apprehended near the intersection of Broadway Street and Vitality Drive.

The vehicle involved has been confirmed as stolen, and the investigation remains ongoing. We extend our appreciation to the McCordsville Police Department for their assistance in securing the scene and helping take the suspect into custody.

At this time, there is no active threat to the community. All individuals involved are in custody and are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
